By Dennis "dSource" Guillermo - Good news to all Flash fans out there, Nonito Donaire Jr. announced last Saturday in a fan appreciation event at Ling Nam restaurant over at the Bay Area that he will be back in the ring to headline Pinoy Power 3 at the Hilton Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada on February 13. His opponent will be Mexican road warrior Gerson Guerrero.
Guerrero has a record of 34-8-0 with 26 victories coming by way of knockout. I caught up with Nonito, who is now Ring Magazine's #6 ranked Pound for Pound fighter in the world, last week in Las Vegas. Donaire is in high spirits after an eventful vacation back in the Philippines wherein he basked in the glory of his Pinoy Power 2 victory and did a couple of TV shows and even had a guest appearance in Manny Pacquiao's comedy sitcom "Show me the Manny".
Donaire kept his body in great shape and should not have a problem jumping back in the thick of things. The left hand he injured against Concepcion in his last fight has also healed and judging by how hyped-up he was during the Pacquiao-Cotto weigh-ins, the "Filipino Flash" is ready to strike again.
